The Rock Band performs at school functions including St James Day, and St Jamz Artsfest, with a view to entering the Battle of the Bands. The Chapel Band performs as chapel, end of year celebrations and possible community events. Band members are required to already play an instrument to an intermediate standard or above. Auditions are held at the start of the year; however, if you are interested in joining the band, please contact Administration throughout the year : Admin@stjameslc.qld.edu.au

In additional to Band, St James offers lunchtime jam sessions for any students learning an instrument. Junior Jam (Years 3-6) takes place in the Music room on Wednesdays 2nd break and Senior Jam (Years 7-12) is on Fridays 1st break.
